Agua is a technology company that develops IoT solutions – both hardware and software, and it enables smart water management systems. “We use flow sensors, ultrasonic level sensors, automated valves and motor controllers to automate water distribution grids in building layouts and cities. Also, we hope to increase efficiencies while reducing wastage and cost,” highlighted Kanish Aggarwal, Chief Operating Officer, Agua Wireless Systems. He said: “Presently, we have actively begun to sell our product, and we are presently targeting individual households, apartments, commercial spaces, and municipal bodies.” Additionally, he said that the company has received excellent feedback from customers who feel that Agua has helped cut down water usage, reduce overall bills associated with water management, he said.

Elaborating on the product applications, he said: “Our applications include sub-metering based dynamic billing systems to reduce the overall water bill. The automation of motors and valves to prevent tank overflows and enable a schedule-based flow and leakage detection in underground pipes and tanks at both building and city level.” Automating sewage treatment plants increases efficiency and reduces manpower costs. Overall, he said the vision is to streamline water management systems across the country to ensure that water usage is rationalised, and every person across the country receives their fair share of water. Speaking on the growth trajectory of the company and the upcoming opportunities, he said: “We want to apply our systems at a much larger scale to automate the distribution of water across the country.” And for this, we want to be involved in everything from the dam level of monitoring to the monitoring of choke points in cities and flood management systems, Aggarwal said.
