JBS announces new plant

JBS Embalagens Metálicas has announced it will be investing over R$ 80 million to build a new plant in Guaiçara, in the interior of São Paulo, to manufacture steel (tinplate) and aluminium aerosol cans. The plant is expected to start operating in the first half of 2020. With high-end technology and a focus on industry 4.0, the facility will have three production lines focusing exclusively on meeting the domestic market.

“This plant will expand our aerosol production capacity by more than 220 million units per year. The decision to move into the aluminium packaging industry by focusing on cosmetic products, especially deodorants, is a big step for us”, said Marcelo Jorcovix, director of JBS Embalagens Metálicas. “Business expansion through portfolio diversification will help us add value to the company”, said the executive.

JBS Embalagens Metálicas is also investing over R$ 25 million to expand lithographic capabilities and modernize production lines at its Lins (SP) plant. The new, latest-generation equipment is built using German and Swiss technology and will be up and running before the end of the year.
