In view of the current situation and outbreak of the pandemic COVID 19, Siemens has taken strides to make its Addictive Manufacturing (AM) Network strong, this in addition to its offering across 3D printing that has been made available to the global medial community. The strides were taken in an attempt to speed up the design and the production of medical components. The Siemens AM network covers the value chain – from upload and simulation to the checking of design to the print processes.

Klaus Helmrich, Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO Siemens Digital Industries, said in a press release: “Having worked on Additive Manufacturing for years, we offer AM solutions along the entire value chain and can print 3D parts quickly according to acute demands. To help fight COVID-19, we have opened our AM Network for hospitals and other health institutions needing spare medical parts to efficiently manage their design and printing requests.”  The designers and engineers are a part of the AM Network, hence they can answer design requests and convert them into printable files.
