Rohde & Schwarz Releases Cutting-Edge Short-Range Simulation for FMCW Radars at EuMW 2023

Rohde & Schwarz’s radar test system simulates driving scenarios for over-the-air testing of ADAS and AD radar sensors. New R&S AREG800A and R&S QAT100 choices enable exceptionally short-range testing.

The Rohde & Schwarz radar test system (RTS) offers comprehensive radar object simulation, supporting a broad spectrum of ADAS traffic scenarios across the 76-81 GHz range.

For benchtop development, Hardware-in-the-Loop, and Vehicle-in-the-Loop applications, the solution combines the R&S AREG800A radar echo generator and R&S QAT100 antenna array.” It includes the R&S AREG8-24/81S/D antenna in production. It now has more flexibility and scalability, as well as higher instantaneous bandwidth for improved distance resolution and future-proofing with R&S AREG8-81S/D mmW remote frontends. It can mimic highly realistic moving objects and has a near object range to limit false object distances to the radar’s airgap value.

Rohde & Schwarz introduces the R&S QAT-B1 ENHANCED FLATNESS option for the R&S QAT100, enabling enhanced amplitude flatness accuracy for all QAT frontend antennas when used in conjunction with the R&S AREG800A.

The R&S RTS facilitates the transfer of real-world test drive procedures to the laboratory, enabling early error detection and yielding substantial cost savings.
