At EMO 2023 in Hanover, the HAIMER Group will showcase industry-leading innovations, including digitization, automation, and smooth data exchange among advanced tool holders and equipment. A key feature: a robust automation cell for efficient tool setup, facilitated by automated guided vehicles to and from the machine tool.

HAIMER Group prioritizes simplified tool management for manufacturing firms of all sizes, presenting EMO 2023 products emphasizing integration into automated, digitalized production systems.

Global Innovations Unveiled at EMO Hanover

“We will present a conclusive and convincing overall concept with regard to digitization and automation of tool room management. Group. This includes easy-to-implement products and software solutions that customers can use plug-and-play and with which they can make their production more efficient. HAIMER will take the customers by the hand and lead them step by step into the digitization of their production and ensure a continuous process. The importance of the tool room will thus increase significantly for many customers,” says Andreas Haimer, President of the HAIMER Group.

HAIMER debuts the exclusive Haimer Hybrid Chuck at EMO, a patented fusion of hydraulic and shrink-fit clamping benefits. Furthermore, the Micro Collet Chuck’s debut caters to precision and ease for 1 mm shank diameters.

Advanced Shrink Fit, Balancing, and Presetting Machinery Software

Upcoming software updates for all HAIMER shrink fit, balancing, and presetting machines will include a bidirectional interface acceptable with HAIMER Tool Room Manager (TRM). This software monitors device status, documents processes, and ensures tolerance compliance. Additionally, it provides optional standardized interfaces (OPC-UA, client, and MQTT Connect) for smooth data exchange with various systems. The software for the HAIMER Tool Dynamic Balancing Machine enables automatic indexing through an integrated gripper. The Automatic Drive function in the Tool Dynamic Preset Microset combination unit enables fully automated measurements.

Enhanced Tool Management Utilizing HAIMER WinTool

HAIMER unveils an integrated Tool Management System with Smart Vending Machines at EMO, offering efficient tool data management. Collaborating with TCM Group, they present WinTool for extensive tool, resource, and process management, alongside Toolbase, a smart tool dispensing system. All HAIMER Microset presetting devices will integrate WinTool. Additionally, HAIMER tool holders will feature a unique data matrix code for streamlined tool management without additional physical markers.

Future-Oriented Tool Presetting Concept

While these innovations enhance manufacturing efficiency for all operators, the focus at the HAIMER booth is on companies that emphasize high automation. The HAIMER Automation Cube One, a key highlight, quickly shrinks, measures, and transfers tool data to machines and databases, particularly benefiting highly automated setups.

Another show-stopping feature is the connection to machine tools, which is handled by DMG MORI AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles). They allow for unsupervised machine supply in a production hall. Andreas Haimer believes that “in the future, such systems will take over central functions in automated production.”
